23 Jul WOUND-HEALING AGENT
Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a wound-healing agent containing a thrombomodulin-like protein as an active ingredient, having an effect for stimulating the growth or multiplication of cells at a damaged tissue site, improved in the effect and high in safety. CONSTITUTION: This wound-healing agent contains a thrombomodulin-like (TM- like) protein as an active ingredient. The TM-like protein is preferably e.g. a protein having an amino acid sequence of the formula. The TM-like protein can be produced by a genetic engineering technology. The employment of a human cell growth factor in addition to the TM-like protein gives larger healing and growth-stimulating effects. The human cell growth factor is preferably human insulin-like cell growth factor-1, human epithelial cell growth factor, etc. The wound-healing agent is preferably prepared in the form of an injection agent or a percutaneous absorption agent. When administered as the injection agent, the TM-like protein is preferably administered as a dose of 0.1-100μg/kg/d. When administered as the percutaneous absorption agent, the TM-like protein is preferably used in a concentration of 0.01-100μg/ml.
