Water-insoluble derivatives of polysaccharides

Water-insoluble derivatives of polysaccharides

Abstract

The present invention relates to water-insoluble derivatives of polysaccharides and method for preparing the same. The invented method comprises modifying coumarin derivatives on polysaccharides polymer chains, in which the polysaccharides are selected from the group consisting of sugar, glucosaminoglycan (GAG), cellulose, chitin, and chitosan; and photo irradiating the coumarin-polysaccharide derivatives to undergo a photodimerization cross-linking reaction to generate water-insoluble derivatives of polysaccharides. These derivatives are applicable on anti-tissue-attaching products used in gastrointestinal operations and gynecological operations or all indirect medical applications (e.g. medicine release systems or carriers), as well as tissue engineering or wound healing materials, etc.
