Abstract
The present invention relates to undifferentiation-specific pulp stem cell surface antigen-1 (UPSA-1), as a surface marker for an undifferentiated stem cell. More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition comprising: a formulation capable of identifying UPSA-1 for detecting or separating an undifferentiated dental pulp stem cell; a method for quantifying or separating an undifferentiated dental pulp stem cell by using the composition; a method for inducing differentiation of an undifferentiated dental pulp stem cell; and an antibody specific to UPSA-1. The composition comprising a formula capable of UPSA-1 can not only identify an undifferentiated state of the dental pulp stem cell but also be used to separate the dental pulp stem cell in the undifferentiated state. In addition, the method for inducing differentiation increases efficiency of differentiation of bone and dentin of the undifferentiated dental pulp stem cell and thus can be advantageously used in the field of cell treatment or tissue engineering.
