Abstract
A two-compartment gradient chamber for the cultivation and/or differentiation of cells/tissues can be tilted from its normal horizontal position to a degassing position which is at an angle to the horizontal, with the outlets for the culture medium at the top of the compartments. A gradient chamber (1) for the cultivation and/or differentiation of cells/tissues, comprising a closed interior space between at least two chamber elements (2, 3), which is divided by at least one cell or tissue carrier (6) into two compartments (2.1, 3.1), each of which has connections for the inlet (7, 9) and outlet (8, 10) of a culture medium. This chamber (1) can be tilted from a normal position in which the carrier (6) and/or a plane of separation (E) between the compartments (2.1, 3.1) is/are horizontal (or almost) into a tilted or degassing position in which (6) and/or (E) is/are at an angle to the horizontal and the medium outlets (8, 10) are at the top of their respective compartments (2.1, 3.1). Independent claims are also included for: (1) a gradient chamber (1) as above in which (6) and/or (E) are at an angle to the horizontal, e.g. vertical, with the inlets (7, 9) at the bottom and the outlets (8, 10) at the top; (2) a gradient chamber (16) with a space between two elements (17, 18) divided into two compartments (17.1, 18.1) by a carrier (6) and provided with medium inlets (19, 21) and outlets (20, 22), in which the carrier (6) in one element (17) lies with its other side (facing element 18) flush with the opening plane (E) between elements (17) and (18), or is separated by a space from the side of this plane (E) facing element (17).
