THE METHOD FOR DIFFERENTIATING STEM CELLS INTO SMOOTH MUSCLE CELLS WITH STRAIN AND TISSUE ENGINEERING COMPLEX CONTAINING THE SMOOTH MUSCLE CELLS

Abstract

PURPOSE: A method for differentiating stem cells into smooth muscle cells and a smooth muscle cell-scaffold complex for tissue engineering are provided to effectively differentiate human adipose-derived stem cells into the smooth muscle cells. CONSTITUTION: A method for differentiating stem cells into smooth muscle cells comprises a step of applying stress to a stem cell-inoculating elastic scaffold in a medium containing biochemical differentiation factor of TFG-beta-1, platelet-derived growth factor-BB(PDGF-BB), ascorbic acid, retinoic acid, or angiotensin II. The biochemical differentiation factor is retinoic acid. The elastic scaffold is formed of biodegradable polymers. The biodegradable polymer is a copolymer of lactic acid and carprolactone. A smooth muscle cell-scaffold complex for tissue engineering contains the differentiated smooth muscle cells for vascular disease treatment or wound healing.
