System and method for manufacturing high strength tissue engineering material via mechanical stimulation in abdominal cavity

Abstract

A system and a method for manufacturing high strength tissue engineering material via mechanical stimulation in abdominal cavity are provided. The system comprises an elastically deformable hollow bracket, a mechanical stimulated unit installed in the hollow bracket, and a central control unit installed in the mechanical stimulation unit. The mechanical stimulation unit includes two delivery pipes connected to the hollow bracket, a pressurizing device installed in one of the delivery pipes, and a pressure sensing device installed in the other of the delivery pipes. The central control unit can drive the pressurizing device according to the pressure signal of the pressure sensing device to perfuse and extract the fluid in the hollow bracket. The structural design of the system and the implantation of the hollow bracket in the organisms abdominal cavity for providing periodic mechanical stimulation can generate a tissue engineering material which is made from autologous tissue cells and which has a high mechanical strength, thereby reducing the reject reaction caused by the implantation of the tissue engineering material in the organism.
