SURGICAL METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING THE CASES OF COMPLICATED MYOPIA

Abstract

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves placing transplant manufactured as ribbons and filling between them onto posterior eye pole. The filling is produced from material possessing shape memory properties. The filling is optionally manufactured as epsilon-shaped plate, as two helical springs inserted one into the other each forming cylindrical carcass, as single spiral spring forming carcass shaped as truncated cone. Before being applied the filling is deformed in cooling it below 37° to give C-shaped or flat form, respectively. The filling restitutes its initial shape under external heat source action. The device is manufactured from titanium nickelide biologically compatible with living tissue and possessing shape memory properties. ^ EFFECT: enhanced effectiveness in correcting severe complicated myopia cases; unlimited service life; no biodegradability properties manifestations when being implanted into living tissues. ^ 31 cl, 6 dwg
