RADIOFREQUENCY THERMIC BALLOON CATHETER

RADIOFREQUENCY THERMIC BALLOON CATHETER

Abstract

FIELD: medical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: device has catheter having external rod and internal rod coming through the external one in sliding relative to the external rod, inflatable balloon coming in contact with injured area mounted between frontal ends of the external and internal rod and radio frequency electrode built in into balloon wall or inside of the balloon. The electrode is used for supplying radio frequency energy in combination with anti-electrode. The anti-electrode is arranged in given position like inside of the balloon, in balloon wall, in a position adjacent to the balloon or on patient body surface. Wire electrode is also available. It is electrically connected to the radio frequency electrode, temperature pick-up and means for supporting uniform temperature distribution. ^ EFFECT: uniform heating of tissue. ^ 12 cl, 8 dwg
