Abstract
This invention is in the field of tissue engineering and relates to methods of preparation of three-dimensional biodegradable microporous, mesoporous or nanoporous polymer scaffolds. Preferably said scaffold is seeded with cells, antibiotics, proteins, nutrients, media, stem cells or other drugs or genetic material during the manufacturing process to aid the tissue regeneration process. Said scaffold may preferably incorporate microcapillary tubes, microscopic wires, microfibres or optical fibres at the time of scaffold preparation to aid the tissue regeneration process and modify the mechanical, chemical, optical and electrical properties of the scaffold.
