PLASMA PROTEIN MATRICES AND METHODS FOR THEIR PREPARATION

PLASMA PROTEIN MATRICES AND METHODS FOR THEIR PREPARATION

Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a freeze-dried biocompatible matrix that includes plasma proteins that are useful as implants for tissue engineering as well as in biotechnology, and to provide methods of producing the matrix. ;SOLUTION: Mechanical and physical parameters can be controlled by the use of auxiliary components or additives which may be removed after the matrix is formed in order to improve the biological properties of the matrix. The matrix comprises plasma proteins from allogeneic plasma, more preferably from autologous plasma. Furthermore, at least one of the plasma proteins used for preparing the matrix is derived from autologous plasma. These matrices may be used clinically per se or as a cell-bearing implant. ;COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT
