Particle-mediated transformation of differentiated pinus embryos

Particle-mediated transformation of differentiated pinus embryos

Abstract

This method of genetically engineering conifers of the genus Pinus, comprises: a) placing conifer embryonic target tissue containing pre stage 3 embryos on a target surface: b) bombarding the target tissue with particles carrying at least one gene of interest and a selection gene; c) inducing the bombarded tissue; d) culturing the bombarded tissue, to select transformed embryonic tissue; e) inducing the development of transformed somatic embryos; and f) germinating and converting the transformed somatic embryos to produce clonal transgenic plants. This method of genetically engineering conifers of the genus Pinus, comprises: a).placing conifer embryonic target tissue containing pre stage 3 embryos on a target surface: b).bombarding the target tissue with particles carrying at least one gene of interest and a selection gene; c).inducing the bombarded tissue; d).culturing the bombarded tissue, to select transformed embryonic tissue; e).inducing the development of transformed somatic embryos; and f).germinating and converting the transformed somatic embryos to produce clonal transgenic plants.
