Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for detecting a sugar chain-expressing cell or tissue of cancer cell, etc., by obtaining a new protein specifically recognizing a sugar chain structure in good sensitivity. ;SOLUTION: A gene of a protein belonging to a siglec family derived from a new human and mouse is found and the sugar chain-recognizing protein is produced by using the genetic engineering means.
