Natural wollastonite mineral biological ceramic bone scaffold material and preparation method thereof

Abstract

The invention relates to a natural wollastonite mineral biological ceramic bone tissue engineering scaffold material, and belongs to the technical field of advanced ceramic materials and biomedical materials. The biological ceramic bone scaffold material is prepared from typical highly-pure natural calcium silicate mineral wollastonite (CaSiO3) used as a main raw material through slurry ageing, gel injection molding, freeze drying and high temperature sintering. Natural wollastonite is fibrous in shape, and contains a small amount of glass phase, so the prepared ceramic material has protruding mechanical performances. The natural wollastonite has good biodegradability and biomineralization capability, and can release calcium, silicon and magnesium ions in physiologic environment. Silicon and magnesium elements have a bone induction performance, and can promote stem cell ossification differentiation. The biological ceramic bone scaffold material prepared in the invention has the advantages of excellent mechanical and biological performances, wide sources of raw materials, simple preparation process and low cost, and can be widely applied to the fields of orthopaedics, oral surgery and plastic surgery.
