NANOSTRUCTURED HYBRID POWDERS BASED ON HYDROXYAPATITE AND MALEIC ACID DERIVATIVES FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

NANOSTRUCTURED HYBRID POWDERS BASED ON HYDROXYAPATITE AND MALEIC ACID DERIVATIVES FOR MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

Abstract

The invention relates to biocompatible hybrid powders based on hydroxyapatite reinforced with yttrium-doped zirconium and maleic anhydride-vinyl acetate copolymer, comprising hydroxyapatite reinforced with zirconium oxide doped with 3…4% yttrium oxide and 10…50%, as related to the hydroxyapatite amount, maleic anhydride-vinyl acetate copolymer having a molecular mass of 106000, and having a tetragonal crystalline structure, a specific surface of 156.8 m2/g and an average grain size of 14 nm. The claimed powders are meant to be employed as filling material for implants and tissue engineering.
