.cndot. The present invention provides a method of fabricating musical instruments or portions thereof using tissue-engineering technologies. .cndot. Biofabrication is a collection of tissue engineering technologies that can be defined as the production of complex living and non-living biological products from raw materials such as living cells, molecules, extracellular matrices, and biomaterials. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention it will be these methods that are used to create musical instruments or portions thereof. .cndot. One of the novel features of the present invention is the incorporation of plant cells in the tissue engineering/biofabrication environment.
