Abstract
FIELD: genetic engineering, agriculture. SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in plants selection. Cell or tissue of plant is treated with Agrobacterium comprising vector with of interest gene under conditions inhibiting Agrobacterium-induced necrosis. Inhibition of Agrobacterium-induced necrosis involves treatment by temperature shock or with suitable chemical inhibitor, or nucleotide sequence encoding mRNA or protein that inhibits Agrobacterium- -induced necrosis. This treatment of cells or tissues prevents their necrosis in transformation using Agrobacterium and enhances the effectiveness of transformation.
