23 Jul METHOD FOR LOWERING POLLEN FERTILITY USING GENE OF TAPETUM SPECIFIC ZINC FINGER TRANSFER FACTOR
Abstract
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a genetic engineering technique useful for reforming a plant character represented by male sterility and using a gene specific to the tissue of an anther. ;SOLUTION: In a method for creating a plant the character of which is reformed, a promotor, which contains either one of DNA having a specific arrangement and DNA having the arrangement of a part of the arrangement of that DNA and showing a specific promotor activity to the tapectum of the anther, and the gene of a different kind connected to the promotor operatively are added. By this method, male sterility can be imparted to the promotor and the plant containing the promotor and the gene of the different kind to provide a useful plant revealing cassette. ;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
