METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT LASER-MEDIATED EYE CORNEA CORRECTION

METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CARRYING OUT LASER-MEDIATED EYE CORNEA CORRECTION

Abstract

FIELD: medicine; medical engineering. ^ SUBSTANCE: method involves removing cornea tissue with laser beam focused on patient eye cornea into an ablating spot and scanning over predefined coordinate set. The ablating spot area is less than cornea area under correction. Ablating spot deviation from given position is controlled before beginning surgical intervention and in performing the operation in at least one point. Cornea tissue is removed layer-by-layer. The ablating spot deviation control is carried out before removing each following layer outside of surgical intervention zone. The device has surgical and periodical pulsating laser arranged on the common optical axis with the surgical laser, detachable aperture, two-dimensional galvanic scanner, projection lens, rotating dichroic mirror, microscope, centering laser of visible range, computer-based control system and photodetector system for determining relative coordinates of the ablating spot connected to the control system. ^ EFFECT: high accuracy in building surface of desired profile. ^ 8 cl, 4 dwg
