Abstract
The present invention relates to an aerosol apparatus for use in a wide variety of fluid dispensing applications including regenerative and therapeutic medicines for the spraying of cells internally or externally for use in tissue engineering or by forming a breathable aerosol containing cells which may be used for the treatment of lung disorders. The apparatus may also be used for medical applications, surgical procedures and laboratory work to include the spraying of fluids including lubricants, saline solutions, antiseptics or antibiotics and liquid medicaments. Yet further applications may include the spraying of chemicals and compounds. The apparatus forms an aerosol as an individual stream and may apply dosing by subjective freehand or by other forms of metering by passing a low-pressure gas over the tip of a capillary, which entrains a liquid present at the tip with the flowing gas for delivery to a target substrate. The liquid is drawn from a reservoir and delivered to the capillary tip via capillarity.
