Abstract
The invention relates to a maize flowering gene ZmCol3 promoter ZmCOL3pro217 and its application, which relate to the field of genetic engineering. A nucleotide sequence of the promoter is shown in SEQ ID NO: 1, the invention also provides a recombinant vector containing the promoter, an expression cassette, a transgenic cell line or a recombinant strain, and the promoter can be used in a transgenic plant. The test research shows that ZmCOL3pro217 has the promoter activity and has the tissue-specific expression, and the tissue specificity is mainly and highly expressed in roots and leaves. Anactive novel ZmCOL3 promoter is obtained from a tropical related maize material, which indicates that the mechanism of ZmCOL3 gene regulation in the tropical related maize material can be different from that of a temperate related material, and the difference in a promoter sequence can be the result of the artificial selection evolution of the ZmCOL3 gene in maize from a tropics region to a temperate regions.
