Abstract
Abstract The invention relates to polymeric high viscosity liquid carrier materials (HVLCMs), in particular esterified polysaccharides, compositions comprising these HVLCMs, coatings for implants which are based on these HVLCMs, methods of their production and their use in delivering substances, including drugs and bioactive agents, systemically to a body as a sustained release device, or locally, as employed in bone tissue engineering and other applications.
