23 Jul Hydrophobic modification method for cellulose nanometer whiskers
Abstract
The invention discloses a hydrophobic modification method for cellulose nanometer whiskers. Cellulose nanometer whiskers are dispersed in an organic solvent, and in the function of a catalyst, a modifier is added, and hydrophobic modification is carried out to surfaces of the cellulose nanometer whiskers. The mass ratio of the cellulose nanometer whiskers to the modifier to the catalyst is 1 g : (0.5-2) g : 0.02 g. The method is simple in preparation technology, less in time consumption, and high in efficiency. The prepared modified cellulose nanometer whiskers are controllable in size and easy to disperse, and have the surface polarity effectively reduced. The interfacial compatibility between cellulose nanometer whiskers and poly(butylene succinate) which is a hydrophobic biodegradable material and derivatives of poly(butylene succinate) is improved. The method has bright application prospects in the fields of nanocomposites and tissue engineering materials.
