FUSION PROTEIN FOR TOOTH AND BONE REGENERATION

FUSION PROTEIN FOR TOOTH AND BONE REGENERATION

Abstract

The present invention relates to a fusion protein which includes a fibronectin domain containing an Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) sequence and an osteocalcin domain, to a composition for the regeneration of bone or teeth containing the fusion protein, to a composition for preventing or treating bone disease, to a method for regenerating bone or teeth using the fusion protein, and to a method for preventing or treating bone disease using the composition. The fusion protein of the present invention has high binding affinity to hydroxyapatite, promotes the attachment and maintenance of osteoblasts, and enhances the differentiation of osteoblasts, and can thus be used as a composition for the regeneration of bone and teeth, as well as for preventing or treating bone disease. Also, the fusion protein can be used in bone-tissue engineering and biomedical science, wherein the fusion protein can be coated on a structure comprising hydroxyapatite (HA) and the like.
