Abstract
The invention relates to the field of genetic engineering, in particular to an engineering bacterium and a construction method thereof and application of the engineering bacterium in preparation of croceic acid. A CrtZ gene and a CCD gene are excessively expressed in the engineering bacterium. Compared with the prior art that croceic acid is biologically synthesized through a tissue culture method and the like, the construction method has the advantages of being more environmentally friendly and lower in cost, and a feasible method is provided for production of croceic acid. In addition, the engineering bacterium has the advantages that the croceic acid producing efficiency is high, and the croceic acid concentration can reach 1.17 mg/L when fermenting is conducted for 108 h.
