23 Jul ELECTROSPINNING DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING NONWOVEN POLYMER MICRO AND NANOFIBER MATERIALS.
Abstract
The present disclosure is related with the medical, biomedical and pharmaceutical industry sector. In particular, related to an electrospinning device for making nonwoven materials with dimensions of up to 18 cm x 18 cm and with uniform thickness; which can serve as textiles, wound dressings or bandages, supports for cell culture in tissue engineering, pharmaceutical vehicles, patches, filter membranes, adsorbent materials or catalyst supports. One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a device and method for the production of polymer micro and nanofibers to manufacture nonwoven materials with uniform thickness and a surface of up to 18 cm x 18 cm, on any substrate. Specifically, an automated device that generates a high-voltage electric field of up to 25 kV. Comprises a system that adjusts the distance of the poles of the electric field to adjust the nominal value of the electric field. In addition, comprises a rotating collecting drum with controlled and adjustable speed where the fibers are collected, has a system of longitudinal movement of the syringe to deposit the fibers along the collecting drum, whereby a material of uniform thickness is generated. Has a system to dispense the polymer solution at controlled rates from 0.1 to 10 mL/hr. It has a chamber temperature control with an accuracy of +/- 3.0° degrees C and includes a humidity detector; to obtain a nonwoven material formed of polymer fibers with diameters that can be from 50 to 1000 nanometers. All of the above, for possible applications in textiles, wound dressings or bandages, supports for cell culture in tissue engineering, vehicles for drugs, patches, filter membranes, adsorbent materials or catalyst supports.
