DRUG DELIVERY COMPOSITION COMPRISING BIOCOMPATIBLE CROSSLINKED HYALURONIC ACID

Abstract

PURPOSE: A drug delivery composition including bio compatible hyaluronic acid crosslinking materials is provided to show long-lasting and to reduce manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A drug delivery composition contains protein drug or antiphlogistics in a carrier or a supporter which essentially includes polysaccharides used as a pharmaceutical formulation or for tissue engineering. The drug delivery composition is composed of crosslinking material of the hyaluronic acid which is polysaccharide and the bio compatible polymer in order to control and regulate the quantity of emission. The molecular weight of the hyaluronic acid is 30,000-3,000,000 daltons(Da). A drug delivery composition comprises hyaluronic acid hydrogel which is cross-linked by the amidation of bio compatible polymer or bio compatible polymer different from the carboxyl group of the hyaluronic acid by using EDC(1-Ethyl-3-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-carbodiimide) in 0.5-10 wt% of solution of the hyaluronic acid, protein drug or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent. The bio compatible polymer is a homopolymer of lactic acid in a range of the molecular weight 6,000-100,000, copolymers derivative of the lactic acid and glycolic acid or a mixture thereof.
