Cotton gene GhHAK1 for improving potassium uptake and salt tolerance of plant and application thereof

Cotton gene GhHAK1 for improving potassium uptake and salt tolerance of plant and application thereof

Abstract

The invention discloses a cotton gene GhHAK1 for improving potassium absorption and salt tolerance of a plant. A nucleotide sequence of the cotton gene GhHAK1 is shown in SEQ ID NO:1, and an amino acid sequence is shown in SEQ ID NO:2. The invention also discloses an expression vector containing the cotton gene GhHAK1 and a plant variety with high potassium absorption and salt tolerance cultivated by transferring the gene or a coding protein thereof into a plant tissue. By utilizing a genetic engineering technology, electronic cloning and PCR technologies, information of a gene sequence related to high potassium absorption rate and salt tolerance in cotton is separated and identified, the gene is transferred into arabidopsis thaliana by adopting a floral dipping method, and potassium absorption and salt tolerance phenotype identification proves that potassium absorption capacity and salt tolerance of the transgenic plant are obviously improved. The gene with potassium absorption and salt tolerance improving function disclosed by the invention provides a basis for cultivation of a new cotton variety with high potassium absorption and salt tolerance by adopting a hybridization or transgenic technology and has important economic value and social significance in increase of yield of cotton planted in potassium-deficient soil and saline-alkali soil.
