COMPOSITION AND PROCESS FOR PREPARING PH- AND HEAT-SENSITIVE HYDROGELS FOR TISSUE ENGINEERING

Abstract

The invention relates to a process for preparing hydrogels to be used in tissue engineering. According to the invention, the process consists in preparing solutions of preset concentration by chitosan solubilization in acid aqueous solutions, centrifugation of the resulting solutions, neutralization thereof up to a physiological pH value with polyol complexes, possibly dissolved in bidistilled water or buffer salts, possibly associated with salts which are retrieved in the cell culture media, deaeration of the reaction mixture by ultrasound treatment, dropping the same into the wells of some biological plates and reticulation under physiological conditions followed by washing and lyophilization of the resulting disc-shaped hydrogels having pores of 50…100 μ m and a porosity of 84…87%.
