Abstract
The present invention relates to the use of magnesium or magnesium derivatives for promoting the regeneration and/or growth of cartilaginous tissue. In particular, the present invention relates to the use of magnesium or magnesium derivatives in form of a substrate or an agent for the prophylaxis or treatment of cartilage diseases, disorders or damages. Further, the invention relates to the use of magnesium or magnesium-derivatives in tissue engineering and/or gene therapy.
