CARBON NANOTUBE-GRAFTED-CHITOSAN- HYDROXYAPATITE COMPOSITE FOR BONE TISSUE ENGINEERING AND A METHOD OF PREPARING THE SAME

Abstract

PURPOSE: A chitosan-hydroxyapatite composite for bone tissue engineering combined with carbon nanotube, and a producing method thereof are provided to improve the thermal stability of the composite, and to increase the cell proliferation and decomposition speed. CONSTITUTION: A producing method of a chitosan-hydroxyapatite composite for bone tissue engineering comprises the following steps: dissolving chitosan in an acetate solution, and processing with ultrasonic waves; dissolving activated multi-walled carbon nanotube in water, and processing with the ultrasonic waves; dispersing hydroxyapatite in the water; slowly adding the carbon nanotube disperse solution in the chitosan solution; and inserting the hydroxyapatite-water suspension into the mixture.
