Biomedical controllable degradable CaZn base amorphous alloy

Biomedical controllable degradable CaZn base amorphous alloy

Abstract

The invention relates to a biomedical degradable alloy, specifically to a CaZn base amorphous alloy, in which Ca and Zn are used as main components, an appropriate amount of micro alloying elements are added and at least an amorphous phase of 50% (volume percentage) is contained. The mechanical property, corrosion rate and biocompatibility of the alloy are regulated by changing the atomic percent of Ca and Zn and adding micro alloying elements in order to satisfy different demands of implanted tissue. The alloy can be used to prepare temporary or short-term implantable devices, such as vascular stents, bone tissue substitution or repairing materials as well as scaffold materials of tissue engineering.
