Abstract
The present invention relates to a medical biomaterial containing sulfated hyaluronic acid. More specifically, the sulfated hyaluronic acid of the present invention is free from cytotoxicity, reduces antigen-antibody reactions and inflammation when injected into tissues, and does not act as a foreign substance owing to higher solubility than natural hyaluronic acid. In addition, the sulfated hyaluronic acid inhibits activities of inflammatory cytokines and inflammation-associated factors. Accordingly, the sulfated hyaluronic acid can be useful as anti-inflammation compositions as well as materials for regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.
