Abstract

FIELD: medical engineering. SUBSTANCE: medical needle is used for application of surgical sutures It is made in the form of bent rod which has sharp and dull ends. End-face axial channel in which thread is secured is formed in dull end. Needle surface is coated with carbon film of 100-1000 thick. Sharp end is rounded with radius R=0.1-1.0 mcm. Method of needle manufacture includes straightening of wire, cutting it into rods with formation of needle spear, thermal treatment of rod, preliminary mechanical sharpening of needle spear with subsequent electrochemical sharpening and polishing. This done, needle spear is subjected to plasma treatment, end-face axial channel for thread attachment is formed after which rod is coated with carbon film. EFFECT: higher functional capabilities, strength and reliability, reduced biological tissue puncturing force. 4 cl, 1 dwg
