23 Jul AGENT FOR STIMULATING CHONDROPLASTY CURE
Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide a medical agent for stimulating bone neogenesis and cartilage healing in surgical chondroplasty. CONSTITUTION:A cure-stimulating agent in chondroplasty contains a parathyroid hormone (PTH) or a PTH derivative as an active ingredient. The PTH is preferably a natural PTH, a PTH produced by a genetic engineering means, or a human PTH including a chemically synthesized PTH and comprising 84 amino acid residues. The PTH derivative is preferably a human PTH (1-34) in which the partial peptide of the PTH, the PTH itself or a peptide produced by partially replacing the constituting amino acids of the partial peptide with other amino acids comprises 34 amino acids positioned at places ranging from the N-terminal to the 34th amino acid. The injection method for the agent is preferably a local injection method comprising injecting the agent into an articular cavity or a lesional site or a systemic administration method comprising subcutaneous administration. The administration does of the agent is preferably 10<-10> to 10<-7> M in a tissue level on the local administration and 10 to 1000mug/head on the systemic administration.
