Abstract
The invention discloses a culture medium for enhancing osteogenesis and chondrogenesis differentiation characteristics of umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells. The culture medium is characterized in that a DMEM/DF12 culture medium serves as a basal culture medium, and fetal calf serum and tumor necrosis factors alpha or interleukin 1 beta are added. The osteogenesis and chondrogenesis capacity of the umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells treated by the culture medium is remarkably enhanced under micro-environmental induction as compared with that of untreated umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cells, forms and surface markers are unchanged, immunogenicity is low, the apoptosis rate and the senescence rate of the cells are unchanged, and the cells serving as bone tissue engineering seed cells are excellent in application prospect.
