Abstract
The invention relates to agents for reducing rejection reactions or infiltrative, inflammatory reactions in autografts, for example in tissue-engineered grafts, especially cartilage and bone tissues. The active components of the inventive agents comprise corticosteroids, optionally combined with cyclosporins and/or inhibitors or inflammatory cytokines. The inventive agents can also be used in the production of autologous connective tissues that is characterized by isolating suitable cells of the connective tissue, propagating said cells in vitro (tissue engineering), embedding them in a three-dimensional matrix and stimulating them by corticosteroids.
